Denis Ten, Kazakhstan figure skater and Olympic medalist, murdered and suspect confesses the police

MOSCOW – Authorities in Kazakhstan said Friday that a man had been arrested and confessed to killing Olympic figure skating medalist Denis Ten. Prosecutor Berik Zhuyrektayev said in a televised statement that Nuraly Kiyasov had "confessed his guilt in the presence of a lawyer" while he was being questioned about the death of the 25-year-old figure skater.

The prosecutor did not give more details about what Kiyasov had said:

A second man, named Arman Kudaibergenov, is wanted by the police about Ten's death, whose death caused national mourning.

Ten years, 25 years old, was stabbed allegedly to have stolen a mirror from his car in his hometown of Almaty. He died in the hospital of mbadive bleeding caused by multiple injuries, reported the news agency Kazinform.

Prosecutors treat his death as a murder

Kazinform reported that Kiyasov was taken to the scene on Friday.

Ten bronze in Sochi in 2014 made him the first Olympic medalist in Kazakhstan in figure skating. He also won the Four Continents Championships in 2015 and was silver medalist at the World Championships in 2013.

Ten have had injuries in recent years and have only managed to to rank 27th at the Pyeongchang Olympics in February
