Denmark's richest man lost three children during attacks in Sri Lanka

Anders Holch Povlsen is the owner of the ASOS clothing company and was on vacation with his family. During the trip, he lost three of his four children.

Anders Holch Povlsen is an extremely poor multimillionaire. If he could, he would exchange all his fortune against the return of his children, who died Sunday during the attacks perpetrated in Sri Lanka.

Povlsen owns the Bestseller clothing company and the ASOS online sales site. His companies made him the richest man in Denmark and he was in India to celebrate Easter Sunday with his family.

The Hermeticism that involves the death of three of his four children has still not revealed who was the only one to have survived. Recently, one of his daughters, Alma, had shared a photo with Astrid, Agnes and Alfred during the holidays with his brothers.

"Unfortunately, we can confirm the information, we ask them to respect the privacy of the family and we will therefore make no comment in the future," said a spokesman for Bestseller.

The family fortune

That's Troels Povlsen, father of Anders, who founded the family's empire in 1975 and who went from a family store to a 15,000-worker company. He currently owns brands such as Only, Jack & Jones and Vero Moda, as well as nearly 30% of ASOS.

According to Forbes magazine, it is estimated that his fortune is about 5 400 million pounds, or about 6 300 million euros. Even, according to the publication devoted to financing the badets of the entrepreneur, could reach 7,000 million euros.

Povlsen is, among others, the second largest private landowner in the UK and owns 11 properties in Scotland, including Aldourie Castle. His possessions cover a total of 900 square kilometers.
