German logistics giant DHL today launched a mobile app that enables shop at over 100 stores in the United States, between them Amazon, Apple, Gap y Barnes & Nobles. It is a virtual shopping, which includes a door-to-door delivery system, with “an average of 11 days“, said to Bugle Alejandro Jasiukiewicz, Country Manager of the company’s local branch. Due to the regulations in force in Argentina, a user can make up to 5 shipments per year, with a cap of US $ 2,500 and up to 50 kilos with each purchase.

The new platform is called DHL LATAM eShop and is operating from today in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay and Panama. It was created precisely to attract consumers to the region through e-commerce. In this way, “they will have the opportunity to choose from over 8.5 billion products and choose to buy from one store, or buy from multiple stores and bundle the selected products together to travel to the destination country via DHL Express, ”the official statement read.

The purchase mechanism requires the download of the app (DHL LATAM eShop) in the Play Store (Android) or in the Apple Store (iOs). Then you need to complete the registration process. From here you can access the virtual shopping center, where all the companies associated with the system appear. The list includes multirubro stores (Amazon, Macy´sy Nordstrom), electronic (Apple), books (Barnes & Noble) and many brands of clothing and footwear, such as Gap, Armani Exchanges, Old Navy, y Banana Republic.

When the user executes the purchase (with a limit of three units for the same product), the application executes the order and works out the total cost of the operation: for Argentines, the formula includes the price of the product indicated in “Savings dollars”, taxes, freight and door-to-door delivery. In any case, the application calculates all the costs and quotes the operation, so that the person knows how much they will have to pay in pesos.

DHL today launched the app regionally. For Argentines, the system allows a user to buy in 4 stores in one shipment. This is not a minor data since transport has a fixed cost, beyond the quantities and the amount. You can buy up to 15 products per store. Payment can only be made with Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards. “Transfers are not accepted,” Jasiukiewicz said.
