PHOENIX – – The Arizona Diamondbacks traded for the right-handed pitcher Matt Andriese of Tampa Bay Rays
The team dropped receiver Michael Perez and the Right-handed pitcher Brian Shaffer to acquire Andriese. Backs' 40-man, designated RHP club Randall Delgado for posting.
Andriese, 28, is 3-4 with a 4.07 ERA (27 ERA in 59.2 IP), .240 opponents on average and 59 strikeouts in 27 games (On 23 occasions, he played 16 times or plus 16 innings, tied for second highest baseball total.
He limited left-handed batters to an average of 174 (16-for-92) / 245 OBP / .261 SLG in 2018, the best average in the world. Opponent and the percentage of slugging among the major leagues raises, while its base percentage of .245 ranks second.

Andriese went 19-22 with four saves, a 4.30 ERA (162 ERA in 339.0 IP), .261 opponents on average t 293 strikeouts in 99 career games (48 starts) with the Rays.
It was acquired by Tampa Bay, with RHP Brad Boxberger, INF Logan Forsythe, RHP Matt Lollis and INF Maxx Tissenbaum, San Diego Padres for RHP Jesse Hahn and LHP Alex Torres on January 22, 2014. Perez, 25, scored .284 (62-in-218) with nine doubles, one triple, six homers and 29 RBIs in 58 games for Reno Triple-A this year. Shaffer, 21, was 7-5 with a 2.70 ERA (32 ERA's 106.2 points) in 19 starts for Kane County in 2018. He was selected by D-Backs in the sixth round of the 2017 first-year draft.
Delgado, 28, was 2-0 with a 5.14 ERA (4 ER in 7.0 IP) in 6 games for Arizona this season.
