When we talk about it, we quickly think of armed men with large turbans and pronounced beards who repress women in public. However, there is something that is not quite suitable for the sane person: to underline and re-emphasize that they are Muslims, as well as Islamists, and that they rely on the Quran.
First you need to teach people something: not all Muslims are Islamists. Corn What does it mean to be an Islamist? This word is very often used incorrectly. First of all, you should know that this term does not have a negative connotation, as it is always supposed to be. The adjective “Islamist” should only be used to describe someone who is linked to an Islamic party or who holds a similar political position. There are many Islamic political parties in countries that have professed this religion for many decades.
But back to the Taliban, are they Muslims or not?
Well, they claim to be, however, that does not mean that they are practicing the values and principles of Islam as they should.
The taliban It is a religious, political (and Islamist) armed group that has faced foreign military invasions for the past 30 years. Their Pashtu culture and regional traditions predominate there, some of which do not conform to the Islam practiced in many Muslim countries.
What should be emphasized when talking about the famous taliban that’s it: Islam is practiced by 1.8 billion people around the world who love prosperity and peaceful coexistenceThey promote the dignity of men and women equally and disagree on how this group wants to handle things.
Something else to mention: Islam is a religion that resolutely promotes justice, equality between all and the good treatment of others.
In the Quran we read: “People! I created a male and a female for them, I made them peoples and tribes so that they could learn (culture and science) from each other. The noblest among you before God is the most godly ”(49:13). This means that there is no racism in Islam nor the superiority of a man over a woman, since a woman can quietly be more pious than a man and therefore be better before God than a hundred. men.
It’s very wrong to want to point the finger taliban as an example of what it is to implement Sharia law (Islamic law) or be a Muslim.
Any person or group who does not correctly apply the teachings of Islam can never be taken as a reference or example of this faith.
There is no racism in Islam or the superiority of a man over a woman
Islam, from its inception, has immensely befitting women. Sharia explicitly grants women the right to life, to decent treatment, to accept or reject an offer of marriage, the right to maintenance, divorce, inheritance, education, work and the list is long. Anyone who deprives a woman of one of her rights does not apply the Islam nor its law.
In ancient times, it was a Muslim woman who founded the world’s first university. It started as a madrasa which bestowed titles in Fez, Morocco, in the year 895. Fatima Al-Fihriya inherited a fortune from her father and turned it over to promote knowledge, for it , according to Islam, is the most precious after faith. .
It’s obvious that the Taliban cannot represent Islam if they do not fully follow the teachings and the values of Islam, if they do not grant all the rights that this faith guarantees to the citizens living in Afghanistan. It’s that simple and there is someone who has to say it and very clearly. We don’t need more Islamophobia than what already exists.
