Drug trafficking: they moved 273 kilos of cocaine on 14 decks of a truck

A few 273 kilos of cocaine which were transported hidden inside 14 decks of a truck were removed by staff from National Gendarmerie during a road check carried out in Santiago del Estero, according to sources of this federal security force reported today. This transport vehicle was heading for Buenos Aires.

The value of the drug shipment seized is believed to have exceeded $ 320,000,000 on the illegal market.

The operation took place on National Route 34, where members of the 59 Santiago del Estero Squadron inspected a truck heading for Buenos Aires. The ruse used by drug traffickers to mobilize a large shipment of cocaine was discovered through the action of one of the dogs trained to detect drugs. This animal marked the presence of cocaine as it passed near the wheels of the vehicle.

The gendarmes cut the wheels of the truck and found the packages containing the 273 kilos of cocaine divided into 14 blankets. 2,900 dollars and 272,000 pesos were also seized. The driver and his companion were arrested and placed at the disposal of Federal Court 2 of Santiago del Estero.
