Over four tonnes of marijuana hidden in a mountain in the missionary town of Garuhapé were kidnapped today by members of the Argentine National Gendarmerie (GNA), depending on the sources of force and Ministry of National Security.

The operation was carried out at dawn today after a twenty day investigation and was carried out by personnel from the Squadron 11 San Ignacio de la Gendarmería.

According to information, the gendarmes patrolled on the provincial road 220, near the City of Garuhapé, when they identified traces of a large vehicle, which indicated a road leading to a difficult traffic area, which connects with pine groves.

After following this path, the men in uniform found a blue tarp in the undergrowth that hid a large number of packages of different sizes.

A light search determined that the packages contained breads armed with a green plant substance, so staff from the Unit’s Forensic and Forensic Studies Group conducted a field test of the “Narco Test”, which showed a positive result for marijuana.

A total of 191 packages were counted, the bulk weight and estimate of which gave 4,200 kilos of marijuana, estimated to be worth around 667,590,000 pesos on the illegal market.
