The man finally understood that it was him they were looking for and answered the calls with “I’m here”.

An unusual event was committed by a man in Turkey who unaware that he had been reported missing, he accidentally joined his own search group and for hours he didn’t realize that it was he they were looking for.

The funny episode had another protagonist, alcohol, because the man was notably drunk, which contributed to the monumental confusion of not realizing that he was looking for himself.

Beyhan Mutlu, 50, was reported missing on Tuesday after going out for a drink with friends and ended up wandering in a forest in Cayyaka.

For several hours, his family and friends tried to contact him without success. So they went to the police and insisted that a search team prepare to find him.

This group quickly recruited family, friends and neighbors who moved to the wooded area to find Mutlu.

In this forest and while walking with a terrible hangover, Mutlu found his own search team. According to local media reports, the man joined the group of volunteers and started walking with them without really knowing what they were looking for, or rather who.

The situation continued until the man knew that the name they were calling was his and finally replied: “I am here”.

Following the incident, Mutlu was pulled aside by a rescuer where he made a statement.

“Don’t punish me too harshly, officer”, would have said. “My father is going to kill me.

The 50-year-old has been taken home, authorities said, but it is not known whether he will face penalties.

The man was visibly drunk and had been left to wander through a wooded area after drinking with friends.

A similar case occurred in 2012 when a missing woman in Iceland was found.

The confusion arose when the woman left the tour group and changed her clothes.

When she returned to the group in a different outfit, the rest of the group did not recognize her and she was reported missing.

The tourist participated in the intense police search over a weekend after not realizing that the description of the missing person was her.

Hours later, the search party was suspended after realizing that the woman they were looking for was in their party the entire time.

In this case, however, the woman was not overdone like Mutlu.
