Due to lack of budget, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has closed an embassy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship has alleged budgetary reasons for organizing the closure of the Embbady of Argentina in Santa Lucia, a Caribbean island. Consular and diplomatic tasks will now be concentrated in Barbados, whose embbady has been reopened to also serve the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The diplomatic seat was opened in 2013 in the city of Castries.

CONSIDERING the file No. EX-2018-50538169-APN-DGD # MRE, Decree Nr. 2 dated 7 January 2013, 4 of 7 January 2013 and 632 of 6 July 2018, and

CONSIDERING:

By Decree No. 2/13, the reopening of the Embbady of the Republic in BARBADOS was ordered.

By Decree No. 4/13, the Embbady of the Republic was opened in SANTA LUCÍA.

This Decree No. 632/18 set the budgetary parameters to achieve the objectives of efficiency and cost control of the NATIONAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, whose objective was to rationalize the use of state resources. .

That the plan of optimization of the representations of the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS and the CULTE includes the closing of the embbady of the Republic in SANTA LUCÍA.

That is why it is necessary to readjust the diplomatic acquiescence of the Embbady of the Republic in BARBADOS with regard to SANTA LUCÍA, the FEDERATION OF SAN CRISTÓBAL AND NIEVES and the COMMUNITY OF DOMINICA.

It is also necessary to modify the consular section of the consular section of the Embbady of the Republic in BARBADOS by attributing to it all the territory of SANTA LUCÍA, that of the FEDERATION OF SAN CRISTOBAL AND NIEVES and that of the DOMINICAN COMMUNITY .

That the Governments of BARBADOS, SANTA LUCÍA, the FEDERATION OF SAN CRISTÓBAL AND NIEVES and the COMMUNITY OF DOMINICA have been duly informed of the modifications of the diplomatic agreement without expressing their opposition, as provided for in the CONVENTION DE VIENNA ON DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS dated 18 April 1961 and approved by Legislative Decree No. 7672 of 13 September 1963.

That the Governments of SANTA LUCÍA, the FEDERATION OF SAN CRISTOBAL AND NIEVES and the COMMONWEALTH DOMINICAIN have been duly informed of the changes made to the consular district, with the agreement of BARBADOS to this effect, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on CONSULAR Relations of April 24, 1963, approved by Law No. 17 081.

That the DIRECTORATE GENERAL FOR CONSULAR AFFAIRS and the GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF CEREMONIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND WORSHIP have taken measures within their respective jurisdictions.

The SECRETARIAT FOR FOREIGN COORDINATION AND PLANNING, the SECRETARIAT FOR INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC RELATIONS and the SECRETARIAT FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS of the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND WORSHIP intervened within their respective jurisdictions.

That the DIRECTORATE-GENERAL OF THE LEGAL COUNCIL and the GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF LEGAL AFFAIRS of the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND CULT have taken measures within the framework of their respective competences.

That this measure is taken pursuant to the powers conferred by Article 99 (1) of the NATIONAL CONSTITUTION.

Decree:

ARTICLE 1.- Be informed of the closing of the Embbady of the Republic in SANTA LUCÍA whose head office is in Castries.

ARTICLE 2.- The diplomatic consent of the ARGENTINE REPUBLIC to SANTA LUCÍA, the FEDERATION SAN CRISTÓBAL AND NIEVES and the DOMINICAN COMMUNITY is modified to badign this function to the Embbady of the Republic in BARBADOS.

ARTICLE 3.- The consular section of the Embbady of the Republic in BARBADOS will be modified. It will consist of the territories of BARBADOS, SANTA LUCÍA, the FEDERATION OF SAN CRISTOBAL AND NIEVES and the COMMUNITY DOMINICA. .

ARTICLE 4.- The expenses occasioned by the execution of this decree are charged to the budget of the court 35.-MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND WORSHIP.
