Due to the new tension, border closures in Argentina have started and will continue until January 9

The closure of borders with neighboring countries and the suspension of flights to and from five countries in Europe and Oceania began to take effect today, after the government implemented the measure as part of the of the coronavirus pandemic.

The measure provided for by administrative decision 2252/2020 was published last Wednesday and establishes the closure of borders with neighboring countries (Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Chile) from this Thursday until January 9, as well as suspends the authorizations granted on direct flights to and from the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, Italy and the Netherlands.

The goal was to prevent the arrival of people carrying one of the new strains of COVID-19 detected in recent weeks.
