Duque orders curfew and dry law in Cali to control public order

In a virtual meeting, President Iván Duque ordered Defense Minister Diego Molano and Interior Minister Daniel Palacios to communicate new measures to Cali authorities to contain the public order situation in the city . The president demanded that on the night of May 9, the curfew and dry law begin to apply, but did not specify until the rule was in effect.

He also called on members of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca (CRIC) to “return to their territory” in order to avoid roadblocks and clashes.
