A tremor of 6.6 degrees was felt this Friday at the border between Mexico and Guatemala and was seen in several Mexican cities, including Mexico City, 1,000 kilometers. no casualties or damage are reported

The National Seismological Service reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 40 km southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo, in the state of Chiapas on the border with Central America.

In some areas of the Mexican capital the seismic alarm has been activated and there was some evacuation, while the majority did not see it. The situation in the city is now quite normal.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake occurred 14 km from Puerto Madero, near the coast of Chiapas, at a depth of 86.6 km.

Authorities in El Salvador said that they also felt in that country but that there was no tsunami warning.

Mexico has suffered at least two devastating earthquakes in recent years. Since then, any tremor causes an alarm.

In 2017, Mexico suffered an earthquake that killed 228 people in Mexico City and 141 in the rest of the country.
