The President of France, Emmanuel Macron announced on Wednesday an attenuated containment for the whole country, in an attempt to stop the spread of the pandemic, which has saturated hospitals in several regions.

This measure will take effect “Since Saturday evening for four weeks”, He said in a televised statement in which he extended to all of France the type of confinement in which 19 departments of the country were already located.

Among these measures is the closure of non-essential businesses, with some exceptions, and ban on traveling more than 10 km.

On the other hand, Schools and secondary schools will close next Monday, for at least three weeks, Macron added in a televised speech.

France struggles to try curb the third wave of the pandemic, which has put health services, especially emergency services, to the limit of their capacity.
