The old Colombian guerrilla Pedro Montoya, who killed a FARC commander for a reward, was killed by strangers in a rural area of ​​central Caldas Department.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the municipality of Manzanares, where Montoya was working in a fish farm after spending several years in prison.

"Some witnesses told us that two hooded people had left the bushes and attacked from behind"said the commander of the Caldas police, Alberto Gomez.

The victim surrendered to the army in 2008, after killing Manuel Muñozalias Ivan Rios, who was at the head of the FARC central bloc and the youngest among the members of the guerrilla organization's command.

After the crime of security chief, Montoya cut off his right hand and seized the computer and identity documents of his victim, in order to collect the reward offered by the Colombian government, more than a month. , $ 5 million, which he never received.

The Colombian government and the FARC signed a peace agreement in November 2016 ending 52 years of conflict.
