Felipe Solá appeared for the first time on social networks after his traumatic departure from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the defeat of the Frente de Todos at PASO, with a message of gratitude to the workers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in which he promised to “continue to work” throughout the country.
“There are no words to thank so much affection of all the workers of the Argentinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thank you for putting the body through a very difficult time in the country“Solá said from her Twitter account.
“I will continue to work for the full recovery of our beloved Argentina”he added, accompanied by a photo of his farewell to the Palacio San Martín.
Solá will be replaced by Santiago Cafiero, then chief of staff, as part of the changes made by the government after the hard defeat of PASO and the short circuits between Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner.
What is curious is that the former Minister of Foreign Affairs learned of the official decision in Mexico, where he was preparing to participate in the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). However, the news fell like a bucket of cold water and he preferred not to be part of the meeting.
His place was taken by Juan Carlos Valle Raleigh, Under-Secretary for Latin American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Cafiero’s arrival in foreign relations is the result of negotiations with Cristina Kirchner. Either he would follow Wado de Pedro, who was the ram of the Kirchnerist attack to force changes in the cabinet, or both would stay. This is how it happened.
So there was no agreed departure from Solá, as some government sources reported. On the contrary, we know that the former Minister of Foreign Affairs communicated with other Peronist leaders who believe that a political cycle is ending and that the main protagonists can be swallowed up.
