FARM concerned about the possible eradication of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine

The Federation of Rural Associations of Mercosur (FARM) considers that it is "essential" that before making a decision of crucial importance such as the lifting of vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease, all technical studies, economic, risk and cost / benefit badysis to determine if the conditions are met to take such action.

FARM issued a statement in which it expressed its concern about the possible lifting of FMD vaccination at the regional level.

In addition, it recognizes the importance of eradicating FMD without vaccination throughout the region to help eliminate sanitary barriers and paralear to trade in meat and animal products.

The document also refers to the fact that the commitment of all the countries involved is "basic" in order to agree on health measures and plans to position and maintain livestock and thereby respond to the growing and demanding world demand.
