Father starved daughter to death because she was too young to help on his farm

A father was found guilty of starving his 10 month old daughter, because she was too young to help on her farm.

Seth Welch, 28, considered the death of her daughter Mary in August 2018 as a “natural situation” to be too weak to cope on her own and was convicted of his murder felony.

Jurors in Grand Rapids, Mich. Took just 80 minutes to convict Welch after they were shown a horrific photo of the baby’s corpse. He will be sentenced to life in prison without parole in March.

The girl was found, in 2018, eyes wide and sunk in her face, and the graphic image is too disturbing to be reproduced.

Mary’s mother, Tatiana Fusari, 29, faces the same charge and will be tried next month. Apparently, the couple’s Christian faith made them not “believe” in doctors.

Prosecutor Kim Richardson was delighted to show jurors a photo of the starving girl, telling them: “It’s torture, it’s torture.”

The couple’s other two children were also forced to live in unsanitary conditions, reported WZZM. Welch’s defense attorney Charles Clapp said Mary had not been deliberately starved to death and her parents had lost their minds.

He said Welch did not believe in doctors because of his Christian faith, and that he had tried to pray that Mary would be better. Clapp added that Welch was afraid to seek medical help for Mary and that social services would investigate him for abuse.

Welch was filmed in shock during a court appearance in August 2018 after discovering he faced life in prison if convicted of murdering Mary.
