The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Thursday arrested an official for former President Donald Trump in the January 6 attack on the Capitol, thus becoming the first order linked to the previous government, according to the Politico media.

This is Federico Klein, a 42-year-old man who under the Trump administration worked in the State Department as a political appointment.

More specifically, the detainee was first assigned to the Office of Western Hemisphere Affairs, more specifically to the department in charge of Brazil and the Southern Cone., then transferred to the office that processes federal access to information requests, called FOIA.

Klein, who was detained in Virginia, had previously worked for Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 as an analyst.

Before entering politics alongside Trump, Klein served in the Marine Corps in Iraq.
