President-elect Alberto Fernández arrived Saturday morning in Mexico City, where he plans to meet the country's chief of state, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, as part of his first trip abroad since his victory in power. Elections last Sunday.

López Obrador was one of the many leaders who congratulated Fernández on Sunday's election victory.

In response, the elected president responded – via his Twitter account – that with López Obrador, he would work "side by side to improve our ties and strengthen Latin America's relationship with the world".
