The theft was committed in the afternoon, when the suspects, equipped with badault rifles and wearing the clothes and badges of the federal police, arrived at two vehicles at the export office Guarulhos Freight, which is the largest air terminal in the country. country and one of the largest in Latin America.

Then the criminals announced that there was a robbery: they seized the gold, stored in an armored vehicle containing values, and fled by taking hostage two people, one of whom was the terminal logistics supervisor, according to the authorities.

Two and a half minutes

According to the images recorded by the surveillance cameras, it only took them two and a half minutes to escape with the loot. As the cargo was not only valuable, but heavy, it required the use of airline personnel and trucks to transport it to one of the vans she had fled.

Subsequently, they abandoned the two vehicles, which also carried signs of the Federal, to another place in the region, about twelve kilometers from Guarulhos airport, where they also released the hostages. From there, they escaped: according to a testimony, they would have done it in a white Chevrolet S10 van and an ambulance. There all traces were lost. According to the police, the group used fire extinguishers to hide the fingerprints, but did not specify in which vehicle. Even last night, we did not know who was the millionaire's boss. The security officer and his relatives, as well as officials of the gold company Brink, have already been questioned by the police.

The coup d'etat that ended in the escape by the loading of the precious metal began to be executed on Wednesday when the supervisor of the airport cargo area and his family, including four minors, were taken hostage: nine people in total.

With the face covered and the guns covered, the criminals arrived at the airport on Thursday afternoon, taking the charge with them as hostages.

Police deployed an operation in the area to recover the gold and arrest the attackers, but until last night, identities were unknown, while interrogations were pursued with family members and detainees. Other airport workers.
