Finnish Prime Minister admitted that his government failed and resigned

Finnish Prime MinisterJuha Sipilä he submitted his resignation this Friday after failing in its attempt to approve a program of social reforms and the health system. The official and his cabinet communicated the decision only 5 weeks before the legislative elections of 14 April.

During the political campaign leading up to the 2015 elections, Sipilä had been forced to "fix" everything that did not work in Finland. However, the restrictions on subsidies applied by the civil servant under his government were very unpopular for the inhabitants of the Nordic country.

Despite the fall of his image in the polls, the president to implement new social and health reformsbecause it was deemed necessary to reduce the cost of treatment for a growing population.

His proposals to Parliament include: reduction in public spending of about $ 3,400 million by 2029, the centralization of services via new regional health entities and the increase in the number of private providers.

In response to Sipilä's initiatives, the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Questions considered that the did not respect the equal rights of all Finns.

Realizing that the program could not be approved before the parliamentary elections, the president made the decision to leave office. "My government works on the principle of "results or resignation"he said, adding, "I am a man of principles and, in politics, you must badume responsibilities."

The resignation of Sipilä was accompanied by all the members of his cabinet, who will continue to exercise their duties alongside the Prime Minister until the formation of a new coalition to replace him.
