A former American lawyer was arrested in Key West, Florida, for stealing $ 300 worth of merchandise from a department store, just days after acquiring a private island in the region worth eight million dollars.

Andrew Lippi, 54 years oldI bought coffee machines, spotlights and bed sheets in a "Kmart". Monroe County police said the former lawyer he tried to return the boxes of products that he had bought with cheaper goods to recover their money in cash, according to the newspaper "Daily Mail".

According to ABC, Lippi denied making any changes to the products he returned. "I asked him about the lights and he said that he had paid too much money for them and that he did not know how to put them up," explained the manager.

According to local media, when store employees checked the boxes where the former lawyer had returned, they found basketballs and pillowcases, not the products that Lippi had previously acquired. According to the authorities, he had already tried the same tactics three times in recent days.
