After Bonilla’s serene escape, his wife’s alleged lover broke loose and called 911 for the brutal assault alert. He told the police that he needed urgent medical attention because his neighbor had cut off his penis.

He assured that they had spoken in his neighbor’s room and told him: ‘You must stay away from my wife and leave her alone’, which allegedly angered the other man and led to a physical attack.

However, he pleaded unopposed last February to charges of kidnapping, bodily harm with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bonilla has been imprisoned since July 2019.
