For the anniversary, Macri has welcomed those completing missions in Antarctica

President Mauricio Macri sent Friday his greetings to those who carry out missions in the Argentine Antarctic, on the occasion of the inauguration on February 22, 1904, of the meteorological observatory of the island Laurie, Orcadas del Sur, who will later be the base of Orcadas.

Macri, in his message, said that "this year marks 115 years of uninterrupted presence of Argentina in Antarctica, the longest of all the countries of this continent".

"On the day of Antarctica, I would like to pay particular tribute to Argentine scientists, military and diplomats who make this possible," added Macri in his message, which was broadcast on social networks.
