After nearly eight months of vacancy, Aerolineas Argentinas has appointed a new CEO to complete the organizational structure of the national carrier.

The post was empty in August 2108, when Abott Reynal, then owner of the post, submitted his resignation to return to a private activity.

The executive had previously held the financial management of the airlines and joined the management in March 2016, when he badumed the position of Secretary of Interdepartmental Coordination of the Chief of Staff.

He had a successful career in the private sector, including 9 years at the Dutch bank Rabobank – where he held positions in Chile and the United States -, the Boston Consulting Group and Merrill Lynch.

Upon his arrival at Aerolíneas, he made it in replacement of Mario Dell Acqua, who had badumed in December 2016 the position of president until last July. At that time, he was replaced by Luis Malvido, in the presidency, who, after the departure of Reynal, also badumed the general direction.

From now on, Malvido will occupy the highest position in the airline's power system, but will cede the general management to Nicolás Ovejero, who was the executive director of Garbarino's retail chain.

His landing in the airlines has more to do with his past in the airline industry since he was also commercial director of Latam, before taking over Garbarino.

In fact, it is another former leader of the Chilean company who arrives at Aerolíneas. It was Francisco Chiari, who took over the management of the company last year after pbading through the general management of Latam.
