Friday the government of Maduro announced the closure of the border by the state of Táchira (west), which connects the Colombian border town.
The measure prevents the crossing of Simón Bolívar's bridges – the most important bi-national pedestrian crossing – in the city of San Antonio; the bridge of La Unión, in Boca de Grita, and Santander, in Ureña.
A fourth bridge connecting Táchira to Norte de Santander (Colombia), Tienditas, also located in Ureña -limítrofe with Cúcuta-, is blocked by container trucks and other obstacles since the beginning of the month.
The Venezuelan opposition, headed by Juan Guaidó, is trying Saturday to put in place food and medical supplies stored in Colombia, imposed by Maduro, who believes that humanitarian badistance conceals a US military intervention.
