Lawyers for the former parliamentarian, detained Monday by officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin), reported on Wednesday that they could not access their client and that, consequently, they consider that he is the victim of an “enforced disappearance”.

In this context, the head of Parliament, the ruling party Jorge rodriguez, showed on Tuesday alleged conversations by WhatsApp between Guevara and other opponents who are part of the political party Voluntad Popular, led by Leopoldo López.

In those conversations, according to Rodríguez’s version, opponents spoke in cryptic language about preparations for last week’s shootings with criminal gangs in southwest Caracas.

In defense of Guevara, the process “is vitiated by absolute nullity (…) when a simple press conference” condemns “people and they are detained without a court decision”.

For this reason, Mora considers that “Freddy Guevara is also the victim of arbitrary detention”.
