“Fuerza Francisco”, young people encourage the Pope with a video

Many expressions of affection and solidarity continue to flow from all over the world to Pope Bergoglio, who will lead the Angelus Domini prayer from the Roman hospital tomorrow at noon.

On this occasion, the message comes from children and adolescents between five and thirteen who participate in “Summer for young people in the Vatican”, which – together with the animators of the initiative proposed by the Governatorato and organized by the coordination of the Salesian communities with the association “Todo en una fiesta” – they made a three minute video called “Fuerza Francisco” in which they sing a song in chorus to say “do not worry, we are together in this fight with you “.

The children lined up in the Paolo Vi classroom with the colorful shirts they wear according to the age group – green for 5-7 years, blue for 8-10 and orange for 11-13- and choreographed a song written by Don Wellington Abreu, a Brazilian Salesian, and Carlo Patanè in the Forza Gesù lineage of Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano (Zecchino d’Oro). Accompanied by the sound of the organ, they sang the refrain “with your love you can dream and you will have a speedy recovery”, because – they explained – “for us, you are always a great friend and we want to be with you soon “. For this reason, they ask: “Come home to Santa Marta now” with the assurance that “we will make you dance a little here below”, followed by a long final applause of encouragement.

Prayers for the health of the Pope were also provided by the President of the Haitian Bishops ‘Conference, the Bishops’ Conferences of Taiwan and Cape Verde, the Synod of Armenian Catholics and the Anglican Center in Rome.

The Pope also received messages from the King of Bahrain, the Emir of Kuwait, the Co-Prince of Andorra, the regents of San Marino and the presidents of the republics of Kosovo, Portugal, Croatia, Iraq, Hungary and France have not failed to make their feelings felt. The Hungarian Head of State, János Áder, yesterday wished in a message to the Pope “a good convalescence, a speedy and complete recovery” so that “he continues with health and strength his high mission”. Noting that he had “heard with joy the announcement that on the occasion of the closing Mass of the International Eucharistic Congress we will be able to welcome you in Budapest”, the president expressed his “hope for the September meeting” Sunday, September 12.

For his part, the French Head of State, Emmanuel Macron, expressed his best wishes for a fast restoration of the Pontiff, in order to successfully continue his action at the head of the Holy See. Recalling that 2021 marks the centenary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between France and France, he also reiterated his “respectful friendship” with Francisco.
