G7 mobilizes $ 20 million to fight fires in the Amazon – Telam

The G7 has decided to mobilize immediate aid of $ 20 million to fight the fires that have hit the Amazon, announced today French President Emmanuel Macron.

This is the first step of the plan in collaboration with the affected countries so that this region has the necessary means "now that it takes more," said the French president at a press conference with his Chilean counterpart Sebastián Piñera.

Macron said France – which is also an Amazonian country for its overseas territory in French Guiana – will offer military means for fire control in the region, according to the EFE news agency.
