The Confederation of German Trade Unions (DGB) has asked employers to allow longer breaks at noon, when they suffer heat waves, as two weeks ago, marked unprecedented temperatures in this central European country.
"High temperatures imply a physical overload for workers", explained one of the leaders of the DGB, Annelie Buntenbach, in statements published this Saturday by the newspaper Saarbruecker Zeitung.
"The southern countries have it. When there is a heat wave in Germany, we need a nap", Said Buntenbach, reported the DPA news agency.
This nap differs from the hour of the lunch break "a longer period"and"would help to have relaxing stays where, for example, they could close their eyes for an hour", a point.
