In Australia, a terrified woman turned to social media for help when a huge spider had entered her home.
Laree Clarke, of Townsville, in the state of Queensland, this week published pictures of the spider on the page of a local group on Facebook, accompanied by a message saying: " Is there anyone who can take that out of my house? " According to her, the animal, apparently belonging to a species of hunting spiders, was the size of an adult hand.
Clarke received a series of suggestions, many of which suggested he use fire to get rid of the arachnid. "Maybe at the present time, the easiest way is to burn the house," wrote a joker user. "Just burn the house and run," said another.
However, other Internet users have stated that this species of arachnid does not pose a threat to people, but that it is beneficial because it feeds on other insects that may inhabit the house. Later, Clarke updated her publication stating that the spider had been successfully removed from the house.
