The United States has asked Europe not to use Huawei technology in its networks. Huawei has often been mentioned as a company to be wary of for its links with the Chinese government. And while these fears are well-founded, they are not yet supported by significant discoveries about their alleged collaboration in espionage activities.

Many countries have had to take into account the impact that Huawei could have on the development of its 5G networks. Mobile operators have warned that there could be a delay of several years.

Europe seems to have adopted a concrete attitude to the charges and asked the company to provide security guarantees. In the case of the United Kingdom, the IT security unit in this country indicated that risks could be minimized. Huawei's Chairman Guo Ping met in Barcelona with several employees and government authorities.

Regarding the situation, he said: "Let the experts decide whether the networks are secure or not.The US charges on the security of our 5G technology have no proof, nothing."

Vodafone's director, Nick Read, seems to partly share this opinion and asked Washington to share the evidence if he had one. He also warned that the European Commission should not take premature decisions based on partial badyzes of the facts.
