The courageous response of an 82-year-old woman surprised the United Kingdom and the video recorded by security cameras has become viral around the world.

The film shows how the woman repeatedly strikes a thief with her cane who tried to steal her company, located in the city of Stoke, UK, and security cameras.

The old woman was behind the box when a man covered with a blue cloth was brought into his business and asked him to hand over the money.

The woman did not find the panic button, but decided to defend herself: she took her cane and attacked the criminal, local media reported, Stoke on Trent.

Faced with the unexpected reaction, the man pushed her to the ground and managed to escape with 50 pounds and six packs of cigarettes, while the grandmother found herself with a bruise at the eye following the fight.

"It was just instinct: try to stop him and hit him well," expressed the woman identified as June Turner. Without dramatizing the incredible situation he experienced, half an hour after being examined by paramedics, he returned to serving his clients.
