It is about Norma June Platell and Francis Ernest Platell who met as teenagers and a few years later formalized their relationship. At that time, Francis was 20 years old and had never imagined that Norma would be a love for the rest of his life.

Francis, 92, said he never thought of separating from his wife, Norma, 90, who had Alzheimer's disease several years ago. He took care of her for a long time, until she turned to professional help.

One of his daughters, Amanda Platell, decided to write to the British Daily Mail newspaper to tell the moving story of seniors having lived their final years in a retirement home in Australia.

Amanda regretted not having been with them in recent days and said: "Everyone who knew this Christian couple, ordinary and hardworking understood that they were an extraordinary thing: their 70-year love story."

The couple was found holding hands by an absent nurse for 10 minutes. He quickly notified the responsible physician who checked the couple's death at the same time.
