The daily life of wild animals is a path full of mines, because they never know where the danger lurks. And this is true even for the world’s most omnipotent predators, who may not feel comfortable while meeting their basic needs.
For example, a baby cheetah that went to a pond to quench its thirst was eaten by a crocodile in Kruger National Park, South Africa. A video of the dramatic scene was posted on December 3 to YouTube by WildEarth, a broadcaster dedicated to building bridges between humanity and nature.
In the recording we see the cheetah – the fastest land animal, able to easily exceed 100 kilometers per hour. licking the pond while looking cautiously around, when suddenly a crocodile emerges from under the water and drags the cat under the surface in perhaps ten seconds. Thus demonstrating, on the other hand, that the crucial advantage is not always speed: in this case, it lay in the power of the reptile’s jaws and in its ability to orchestrate a perfect ambush.
“Unfortunately we lost one of the little males […]. He went to drink right by the water and you can see the mother walking away. This is the saddest part […] Oh it’s so painful It’s more than painful. [ ]»Lamented Busani Mtshali, the shocked guide in charge of organizing safaris in the park.
