Guatemala suspends the purchase of two aircraft Pampa III – Telam

The Guatemalan Government informed the authorities of the Argentinian aircraft factory (Fadea), located in the city of Córdoba, that it would refrain from buying the two Pampa III aircraft agreed in the framework of an agreement signed on 3 March. July between President Mauricio Macri and his Guatemalan counterpart, Jimmy Morales.

In a statement, Fadea said yesterday that the Comptroller General of the Republic of Guatemala had recommended to the Guatemalan Ministry of National Defense "to abandon the current procedure of acquiring two Pampa III aircraft".

However, since Guatemala, the country's army spokesman, Oscar Perez, explained that the purchase enters a "waiting period" because, in accordance with the recommendations of the Comptroller General, a new aircraft acquisition process will be badyzed, as published today. the newspaper La Hora.

"We will comply with the recommendations of the Comptroller's Office, we will abandon the process and we will respect the recommendations," said the spokesman for the military portfolio.

According to the recommendations, the purchase must be carried out in accordance with the law on state contracts, as well as the execution of a call for tenders via the procurement system of the State. State, called Guatecompras.
