The Colombian magazine Week revealed, this Sunday, a series of audios and discussions of WhatsApp involving part of the soldiers of the Colombian-American command accused of assassinating the President of Haiti on July 7 Jovenel Moses.

One of these audios was sent by the retired Colombian army angel mario yarce to his wife, to inform him of the tasks to which he would have been called. “They tell me it’s to take care of the characters, like being on the front line or when the president is going to make a move, ”said Yarce in the audio, who arrived in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on June 4 with other retired military personnel.

In turn, through a voice message, he told her that what they were putting in place was a “unit against terrorism “which would provide security to” certain ministers, certain tough politicians, “as they do in Colombia”. In another audio, also addressed to his wife, he said the salary would be between $ 2,500 and $ 3,500 per month.

“A mission which requires all our concentration and disposition”

Another of the leaked conversations would correspond to a conversation between members of the command. There, retired Colonel Carlos Guerrero Torres said: “We are going to fulfill a mission which requires all our concentration and disposition, leaving no room for distractions.” There are also messages about the equipment they should bring for the trip to Haiti.

On July 7, the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, was killed by gunfire 12 times by armed men while resting at his home. The attack also injured his wife, who had to be rushed to the United States. From there he recorded an audio in which he assured that Moses had been murdered “so that there would be no transition in the land”.

A day after the attack, the Haitian police authorities confirmed that the commando which carried out the assassination consisted of two Haitian-Americans and 26 Colombians, most of whom were jailed while others died.

This Saturday, Colombian government requested through its Chancellery repatriation of military corpses that they were involved in the murder of Moses and that, he argues, “died under confused circumstances”.
