The man stroked a lion across the fence as if nothing and one second to the other was attacked by another feline. He was saved by a miracle.

Pieter Norje and his wife Ilze met a lions nature reserve in Virginia, South Africa to celebrate their tenth anniversary. In the middle of the tour, the man wanted to make an intimate encounter with the wild life and he had an experience he will remember all his life: he was bitten by a lion.

The tourist couple stayed at the Tikwe River Reserve Hotel in Free State Province, where you can take guided tours to learn about South African wildlife. In this, they approached a fence of the reserve to see more closely the big felines. There the man had a fantastic idea. While Ilze was filming, Pieter stretched out his arm through the thread and began to stroke a very cuddly male lion.

To the surprise (and ignorance) of the 55-year-old man, the one who became defensive was the woman who accompanied the man. The lioness approached, alerted by the attitude of the human. Seeing the arm extended, he measured it and he nailed his teeth at the height of the forearm, locking the jaw for a few seconds on the flesh and unleashing the terror of Pieter and his wife who began to scream . The fight lasted a few moments, until the animal gave up.
