Femicide in San Martín: a woman was murdered by her husband while celebrating his birthday

Beatriz Elena Payiagua Moreno was celebrating her 39th birthday in the municipality of San Martín, Cesar, however, what seemed like a quiet party ended in an argument between relatives. While they were partying, because of the drinks, a discussion ensued between the woman and her sentimental partner, the conversation got so aggressive that both parties grabbed knives in the kitchen and threatened to hurt each other.

However, the threats turned to a more real term and the woman and man were injured simultaneously, she stabbed her partner in the chest and he automatically responded by stabbing her in the neck, which claimed her life. At the time, his son, who witnessed the incident, told authorities what had happened and ensured that it was not the first time that the man had physically abused his wife.

“According to what was declared by the minor, his parents were chatting inside their residence to celebrate his mother’s birthday. Suddenly, they left the discussion; his mother wounded his romantic partner in the chest area with a knife, and the assailant also wounded his wife in the neck, causing her to die instantly, ”authorities said.

However, several relatives denied that the woman attacked him, saying the man himself caused the injury to justify the attack he made on the woman. “Apparently he mistreated and beat her. Sometimes I saw her with purple, but she said she had accidentally bumped into it “, said Nicolás Payiagua, a family member of the victim.
