The medical team began the process of withdrawing treatment on July 2, after the Supreme Court reopened the proceedings by overturning an earlier decision of the Court of Appeal and removing the possibility of new appeals.

The parents' decision not to present new legal arguments in an attempt to resume treatment does not, however, mean that the battle is over.
