A 34-year-old man murdered his friend, 32, after finding out on video that he had raped his eight-year-old baby girl. The vigilante father remains in detention although organizations and politicians demand his release.

The aberrant case keeps Russia on edge and has generated a wave of support for the arrestee, identified as Vyacheslav M. The father was drinking with his friend Oleg Sviridov when he picked up his cell phone and found several videos of the assaults sex on the pedophile’s cell phone, including that of his daughter.

According to police sources, the adults were very close and Sviridov had been left alone to care for the girl on several occasions, so the abuse took place on several occasions.

Observing the footage of the rape, Vyacheslay immediately confronted the pedophile, who managed to escape. Although the complaint was lodged with the police in the Russian region of Samara and a swift investigation was opened, the girl’s father continued to pursue the assailant and located him in front of the officers. Again face to face, this time in a forest near the village of Vintai, the vigilante stabbed his friend to death. However, in court, he assured that the rapist “had tripped over the knife during a fight”.

The Russian Investigative Committee, which opened criminal cases for allegations of sexual abuse of three boys revealed by Sviridov’s cell phone, ordered Vyacheslay’s arrest. Villagers and hundreds of people on social media have demanded that the father not be charged with murder.

Also, the television journalist and former Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak supported him: “All parents defend the killer of the pedophile. If the crime is proven by video events, then is the girl’s father wrong? Any normal father, mother or father would have destroyed a pedophile on the spot. The protection of children is the direct responsibility of parents ”.
