He had a Nazi arsenal in his house and was tried: a Panzer tank, anti-aircraft gun and heavy ammunition

A German court opened the trial a few days ago against an 84 year old millionaire who was accused of having kept elements of the Nazism. What he kept were not just articles of memories or material that is easy to order: had a real arsenal which included up to a 40 ton Panzer tank.

The arsenal was discovered in 2015 as police searched for a list of missing items during the Second World War, between them a bronze statue that the accused had in his home.

Klaus-Dieter F. had more a hundred models with uniforms of all military divisions of the Nazi regime. There were also works of art that Adolf Hitler he had in his office and statues made by the Austrian sculptor Josef thorak, one of the most popular of Nazism.

After the war, works of art remained for a long time in one of the soviet garrisons in Eberswalde in East Germany, and by the end of the 1980s they disappeared.

According to what the chain site specified german wave, the police investigation led to Klaus-Dieter F., on the site of which another sculpture from the Third Reich period was discovered, considered missing: a naked man with a sword. This room was also in the Reich Chancellery and we no longer hear about her after the war.

This medium also detailed how Klaus-Dieter F. operated his tank. Several of the man’s neighbors said that periodically turn on the Panzer to prevent the engine from rusting and in winter he would use it to clear snow-covered roads.

By the time they removed all of the equipment from the house in 2015, it took more than twenty soldiers to move the tank from the basement of the property. The man declared the military vehicle bought it in a warehouse in the UK as a ‘trash can’.

According to the agency DPA, the prosecutor in the case, Thorsten Wolke, explained that the tank was reinstated by the accused, which would mean a violation of the law on the control of weapons of war and other weapons-related crimes. This offense is punished with a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years in prison.

Forensic experts believe that only the anti-aircraft gun it can be seen as a weapon of war and none of the other weapons seized work.
