Car completely caught on fire after driver decided to light a cigarette seconds after disinfecting his hands with liquid alcohol. The terrible event happened in the parking lot of the Federal Shopping Center in Maryland, United States.

The man was sitting in his car with his daughter, when the embers of the cigarette ignited a stain of liquid alcohol.

For their part, the firefighters had to spray extinguishing foam to suffocate the hell inside the car.

Izabella Reaume, the daughter of the man who started the fire, had serious injuries and scars on her face after the dramatic incident.

Paramedics took the little girl to the hospital, where professionals treated her to save her life. As stated, the girl had to use gauze on her face for 23 hours.

The spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident: “Using hand sanitizer and smoking a cigarette is a bad combination in unventilated areas like a car.”.

U.S. health officials recommend thatAnyone who uses hand sanitizer should use it in a well-ventilated area. “If you are using hand sanitizer in an enclosed area, such as a car, open the windows to improve ventilation until the hand sanitizer is dry.”.
