He risked his life, saved eight dogs from a burning shelter and found himself with the burned face

If there is a quality that distinguishes heroes from the rest of the mortals, it is undoubtedly their value. It is for this reason that Colombia José Alexis Cortés has become a creditor of such a title – and by far – since He risked his life to save eight dogs from a fire shelter. Although he accomplished his mission, he suffered serious burns to the body and particularly to the face. Now he is recovering at the hospital.

It all began the night of Sunday, September 8th, when the young employee looked after the dogs in a shelter from the Gamaliel Foundation.

The precarious establishment where he worked worked in the area called Chorrera de la Diosa, in Cali, and gave the house to 20 stray dogs for five years.

In dialogue with Blu RadioViviana Guevara, the administrator of the shelter, said that the place had no electricity, so Cortes had lit a candle as a source of light. However, one of the dogs spilled it upside down and that's how the incident happened.
