A North Texas man died after the explosion of an electronic cigarette in his face, the coroner said.

William Brown, 24, died on January 29, two days after the device explosion that he was using in an electronic cigarette store in Keller, the Tarrant County Coroner's Office announced.

Pieces of the device cut the left carotid artery and integrated it into the skull.

A similar incident also resulted in the death of a Florida man in May.

Tallmadge Elia, 38, died when her vaping device exploded and two fragments broke in her skull, authorities said. He also suffered burns in about 80% of the body. His death was considered an accident.
