Heavy rains that hit London on Sunday caused flooding that affected, among others, hospitals in “Whipps Cross and Newham, located in the east of the capital, who asked patients to go to other health centers in the city.

In this context, the Environment Agency issued two warnings throughout the day for parts of London. The most severe flood warnings occur at locations in Suffolk, Essez and the Isle of Wight.

In addition, 19 other less serious alerts were issued covering most of London and parts of the surrounding counties.

London firefighters confirmed on Twitter that they had received up to 300 calls for flooding in the city’s southwest.

The British Meteorological Office has set an orange alert level in the capital and other parts of the country until 19:00 (18:00 GMT).

The service also warned of the danger of lightning and flooding due to torrential rains expected until Monday.

In several southern regions, 100 millimeters of rain could fall in a few hours, double the monthly average for a month in July, he added.
