Namibia was once known as German South West Africa and was a German colony from 1884 until after World War I, so a small German-speaking community still exists in the country and the name Adolf is not rare.

However, as if to make sure it has nothing to do with the original, Uunona stood out from his youth for the work he did with ex-apartheid fighters in his country.

The party to which he belongs has ruled Namibia since its independence from South Africa in 1990.
