Holidays abroad: one by one, which countries allow Argentines to enter and which do not

As immunization progresses and health indicators improve in each country, the main destinations they reopen the borders to international tourism. However, the coronavirus did not leave and the Delta variant -60% more contagious than the original virus- is present in at least 142 countries, with which governments maintain the restrictions.

In 2020, the sector experienced the worst year in its history for the pandemic. According to data from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in 2020, international travel fell by 74% compared to the previous year. There were 1 billion fewer tourists and losses estimated at 2.4 trillion dollars. In this context, the sector is seeking to rebuild itself and the conditions and protocols vary in each country. By case, some accept Argentinian travelers and others not. And some countries accept everything vaccines and others don’t.

United States

Accepts Argentinian entry with a 72 hours negative Covid-19 certificate before boarding. It must be presented by anyone over 2 years of age, accompanied by an affidavit, before boarding the aircraft. Quarantine is not mandatory upon entering the country.

The United States has an 85% rate of all cases of coronavirus belonging to the Delta variant. And the largest increase in cases in recent weeks has been recorded in the state of Florida, where the city of Miami, one of the most chosen destinations in the world.

Canada

From September 7, it will open its borders to travelers from all over the world who present a complete immunization schedule against the coronavirus.

Mexico

Its borders are closed to Argentinian travelers, although they plan to reopen them to September 7 for all travelers from any country who have a complete vaccination schedule against Covid-19.

Brazil

It allows the entry of Argentinian tourists who present a Negative PCR performed 72 hours before the flight: this last condition is only required for those over 12 years old. The “Traveler’s Health Declaration” must also be completed. By the land border, non-resident aliens cannot enter.

Uruguay

TN.com.ar reported on Thursday that from November, Argentines vaccinated with two doses will be able to enter Uruguay without quarantine. They must present a PCR negative before boarding.

Since September, non-resident foreigners who own property in Uruguay will also be able to enter. They will also be asked for complete vaccination schedules and a negative PCR.

Chile

For the time being does not allow the entry of Argentine citizens for tourist purposes, despite being one of the most advanced countries in the world in terms of vaccination: more than 80% of the target population already has two doses. Sebastián Piñera’s government is analyzing the reopening of borders for tourism from October.

Colombia

Argentinian tourists entering Colombia do not need to present PCR negative to enter the country. They only need to do the Check – Mig check-in 24 hours before their flight

Ecuador

Foreign tourists over the age of 16 must present a Negative PCR carried out 72 hours before shipping and certificate of complete immunization schedule. Minors under the age of 16 should only take a negative test.

Bolivia

Ask for a PCR or antigen test negative with a validity of 10 days before the arrival date. It also requires a 14 days of quarantine and the presentation of an affidavit of the place of stay in Bolivian territory.

Paraguay

Argentinian travelers who do not have a complete vaccination schedule must undergo five days of quarantine, submit a PCR negative on admission and another at the end of isolation.

Those who can prove the full vaccination schedule or who contracted the coronavirus 14 to 90 days before entering Paraguay are exempt from quarantine.

In all cases, the “Travel Health Declaration Form” must be completed one day before arrival in the country.

Peru

Argentinian tourists must present a Negative PCR performed 72 hours before the flight, or one antigen test performed 24 hours in advance. The government recently lifted the mandatory 14-day quarantine for people entering the territory.

Germany

Since June 25, Germany allows the entry of Argentines with a complete vaccination schedule of inoculants approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Namely, Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen. They are also asking to have a digital COVID certificate from the EU (European Union).

Spain

Last week, Spain decided to lift compliance with a mandatory quarantine for Argentines. The measure will take effect from Tuesday. However, it requires full vaccination schedules authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). They are the following: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Sinopharm and Sinovac-Coronavac. Thereby, those who have been inoculated with Sputnik V cannot enter.

France

In 2019, before the pandemic, France was the country that received the most tourists in the world. And it keeps its borders open to Argentines, but with several requirements: a Negative PCR performed 48 hours before the flight and 7 days of quarantine from arrival. In case of not to be vaccinated, the isolation will last 10 days and the traveler will be able to receive checks from French security organizations.

In line with Germany, it only allows entry of vaccinees with changes approved by the EMA: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen.

Greece

Allows entry to Argentinian travelers, who must present a PCR negative carried out 72 hours before boarding or a antigen test carried out 48 hours before the flight.

It requires having a complete vaccination schedule, although it accepts all inoculants circulating in the country, including Sputnik V and Sinopharm.

Italy

Argentines they cannot travel to Italy for tourist purposes. They can only do this for work, health, study, verifiable emergency or to have their permanent residence there.

UK

Does not allow entry of Argentine tourists and 56 other countries.

Israel

In accordance with the decision of the Israeli Ministry of Health, since August 15, Argentina has been eliminated from the list of “countries most at risk” and has become on the list of “countries at risk”. All those entering Israel from Argentina are required to complete a 14 days of quarantine.

In addition, all passengers, including those vaccinated and those who have recovered from the coronavirus, must prove the negative result on a PCR issued 72 hours before departure. Upon arrival, they must undergo another PCR and cover the costs.

Turkey

Argentine citizens are allowed to enter Turkey. One required negative test for Covid-19 (PCR or serological test) to all travelers over 6 years old.

Japan

Does not allow entry people from Argentina and 158 other countries.

China

It allows the entry of Argentines as long as they perform one stop at most on the flight. They ask for the QR Code Health which can be requested by mail to the Chinese Embassy in the country, for which the presentation of a PCR negative carried out at least 48 hours before boarding.

Australia

He has closed borders to international tourism. Only Australian citizens, resident aliens and immediate family members can enter. The government has announced that it will reopen its borders once it immunizes 80% of its population with full regimens. So far, 26% of Australians have two doses.

New Zealand

The borders of the country are completely firm. Only nationals, residents and direct family members can enter.
