The case has gained international relevance in recent days after learning how investigators identified femicides. It is that the three accused subjects had viralized a video on social networks in which they hold a human leg while they bragged about handling the knife. In another of the plans, in addition, Gabriela’s body can be seen lying on the floor in what appears to be a bathroom.

For the investigations, the femicide occurred on February 28 in Canoas, in the metropolitan area of ​​Porto Alegre, but It was not until March 24 that the body was found buried in a suitcase at a landfill in the Río Blanco neighborhood..

He was found by city workers cleaning the area and when they bulldozed the object, a leg detached from the machinery for which they alerted the forensic police.

Upon opening, they discovered that the inside of the suitcase was “the trunk, head, legs and arms of a female victim who had multiple tattoos”. These tattoos and her fingerprints identified Gabriela.

After this difficult and enormous event, an intense operation began to find the whereabouts of the suspects. A total of 25 police officers were present in an apartment located on Machadinho Street in the Río Blanco district. They believe that at this place they murdered the young woman and for this reason two people were arrested.

Then, on March 27, another suspect was apprehended in Florianópolis and defended himself by assuring that he had no “more participation” in murder. They were still looking to capture three other accomplices.
