The victim is Maya, a dog who was rescued in the Colombian municipality of Gibraltar, after knowing that her owners had sewn her genitals with thread as a method for prevents her from getting pregnant.

This is how the foundation “Lógico & Zoo” denounced on its Twitter account, which arrived on the spot, in the village of Cubugón, in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Toledo, Norte de Santander, and separated the dog of its owners.

As the same foundation revealed, the attackers allegedly decided to use thread to close the genital tract and prevent it from reproducing.

The protectionist entity regretted the fact and described it as “Heartbreaking and cheeky”, because of the way they caused pain and trauma to the animal.

The national police also intervened and helped by providing medical attention to the animal and preventing it from dying from the injuries caused.

Through the Special Unit for Combating Animal Abuse, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation has also spoken out on this atrocious case and announced that they were advancing in the investigation to punish those responsible for the crime of animal abuse.

For its part, Maya has successfully overcome her injuries and is recovering in a transit house, awaiting adoption from a family.
